If you have AOL 6.0 or above, it will "interperet" the HTML for you.
AOL 5.0, which is the most advanced version of AOL for Mac OS9, is unable to read e-mail sent with HTML
Mac OS X users can get a version of AOL that handles HTML, as can users of Windows 98 or later.
My advice to you, if you can only upgrade as far as AOL 5.0 is to check your AOL e-mail via the
www.aol.com web page
(a.k.a. "AOL Anywhere"); doing this will allow you to read the HTML encoded mail without the gobilygook!
