Minor glossary problem

Randy:

The problem: It's the Federal Aviation Administration, not "Association."

I sent an e-mail right after the new board debut to the "glossary" address, and never received a response or noticed a change there.

For what it's worth....

hey, dallasnewsman, kudos for being on top of it. Accuracy is best.

A little known group funded by the five major airlines (the Orbitz Families) has created the Federal Aviation Association. It's a little like Consumers' Digest vs. Consumers' Union.

The FAAssociation has issued all sorts of regulations: no glassware for drinks before takeoff, no electronic devices during first class salad service, no decent or interesting movies unless the sound system is on the blink, and, especially, the perennial favorite: you're not allowed to pee if there's turbulence.

Things the FAAdministration wouldn't enforce in umpty-zillion years, you might say.

I'm sure glad the airlines are right out front protecting us with the Federal Aviation Association, aren't you?
