Dinner with Christine Pierce

Randy,

If I'm not mistaken you had dinner with Christine Pierce on the 23rd? What happened, any news? Toss us some info.

Cheers,

Randy, we are all awaiting your reply. Hopefully, you will have some good news for us. It might be a good idea to post a thread on the DL board to bring everyone up to date. Thanks again for your efforts on our behalf.

This is a topic of intense interest to many of us, particularly given the lack of any substance in the recent Pierce/Pitino chat. Randy, please favor us with a report on this dinner; don't just ignore our interest and desire to have some information, any information, as to DL's attitude and response to our complaints about recent changes to SkyMiles. Most of us would have loved to have that opportunity, but will console ourselves with your comments.

Randy,

As an avid (formerly?) Delta flier, I am also anxious to hear of your dinner with Christine Pierce. I think you had alluded to someone it was just more of the same, but did anything positive come out of it?

Glad you're feeling better!!

Randy, What's the latest scoop on DL? Should we rename Skymiles, Slymiles?

Randy,

Your silence on this matter is deafening. If one were to read between the lines the news would not be good.

For what it's worth since the strike at Comair began I have gotten re acquainted with UA and US--I may not go back to DL!!

Even if there was no progress, at least let us know that.

Apparently, we're not due the courtesy of a response even though RP has posted reponses to several other topics within the last week. If the dinner didn't come off or if Pierce insisted any conversation be "off the record" fine...just tell us that. But there is no reasonable excuse for simply ignoring those of us who are interested in this subject. If I wanted to be ignored I would have e-mailed DL customer service.

Hey, folks, ease up a bit. I hate to be a Randy Petersen apologist (well, I don't hate it), but it's not unusual for Randy to not reply to things like this for a while. That said, it's not hard for Randy to drop in with a sentence or two, or at least for someone else from WebFlyer to say Randy's on an extended trip or something.

Maybe, there's a lot to say here...so it's not a simple post and it's taking some time to write it all up.

I am a great fan of Randy's and always give him the benefit of the doubt. He has been posting over the past couple of days, so I would just assume there was nothing to report--which is fine--just tell us that.

The meeting was almost a month ago. Perhaps there can't be anything going on at Sky Miles due to strikes, etc.

Also, maybe there's a program change pending by DL that he's agreed not to discuss until it's made official.

Such mysteries.

Nologic,

Yes, they are taking more privileges away from us saying it's due to our requests.

Simply Good Business is going to be the ultimate downfall of DL. Anyway can't wait to find out what they do, although they will probably wait until the labor situation is settled.

Not good and not bad, I'm awaiting an answer to my last transmission to her. This topic takes a lot of effort because it seems that there are a number of people who demand that I personally change the Delta program. There are many other threads on this board which don't require permission and I find them easier to dialog with. I'll continue with trying to find the time necessary to get this taken care of. Yes, I keep saying that, but it's not far from my intent.

As for any news, it's business as usual at Delta and they look forward to responding to anything we have to say. As you know the plan was to wait until we had some mass. As it is, 3,000 SSM members represents about half of one percent and that's difficult for them to consider a majority of the elite members of that program. I'm sure had we been able to get 30,000, then it's a whole new ballgame.

Here's an idea. There's many people on this board who are very interested. Let's find out who they are, appoint a captain and organize a few details to get this going. I think that's far wiser than trying to wait for me. Now, it doesn't mean I'm not interested, but I don't know how many times I can spell out the fact that I'm time starved, have been and will be in the near future. If we had about a dozen people, I'm sure we could get thos really going again, but trust me, it's not a one person gig. Thee are 4 other individuals that have put a lot of effort into this, but again, we need a captain and I'm not that guy right now.

So what do you say....bicker and complain about Randy's uneven ability to focus on this issue or work together to make it work? Let me know.

Randy,

Thank you for finally responding. I think many more than 3000 of us have responded with our feet. I, for one, have not flown DL since February 26--first due to strike issues, but now since I have seen the competition, I don't know if I will return.

I would be delighted to assist in the effort. You can email me when you have a chance to outline what needs to be done.

Also please understand we know you're busy and I don't think we wanted you to take charge here--we just knew you dined with Christine, and were wondering what if anything happened.
