I think that's far wiser than trying to wait for me. Now, it doesn't mean I'm not interested, but I don't know how many times I can spell out the fact that I'm time starved, have been and will be in the near future. If we had about a dozen people, I'm sure we could get thos really going again, but trust me, it's not a one person gig. Thee are 4 other individuals that have put a lot of effort into this, but again, we need a captain and I'm not that guy right now.

So what do you say....bicker and complain about Randy's uneven ability to focus on this issue or work together to make it work? Let me know.

Randy, I totally understand your situation at work, having to wear several hats on your head at the same time. I strongly suggest thst you post a thread on the Delta board regarding your quoted suggestion and give them a little bit of your time in the form of responses to the questions that we all know will follow such a post. They need to hear from you, and remember that not everyone checks in on the "ORP" board (although they should).

We need to get this ball rolling again and every engine needs a sparkplug to get it fired up. Please strongly consider my suggestion.

Also for the record, did you ever formally submit the petition from www.saveskymiles.com to DL? If so, when and to whom? Was there any response officially or unofficially from them?

Hi Randy,

Great meeting you face-to-face at the Freddies. Always like to see a guy having fun!

A lot of us are getting really discouraged with Delta. Can you give us any reason for encouragement? What does Christine Pierce tell you? Would she like to hear from any of us, or are passengers just an annoyance to Delta executives? Any advice would be appreciated.

Bruce

Randy,
It has been over 1 month since your last post on this thread. I was hoping that you could provide us with some good news on the DL situation. Their business is way off, and a quick peep at the DL board will confirm how negative the mood is towards them at this point in time.

If there was one frequent flyer's program that upset FTers this year, it was DL's. Many of us have switched over to other airlines to protest the "new and improved" 2001 Skymiles program. Any news at this point will be welcomed.

Randy, One of the problems that we encountered and definitely kept the numbers extremely low was the computer program that prevented more than 1 person from signing the SSM petition from the same computer. Many thousands of cards were given out in the CRC's around the country and human nature is to react while the thought is fresh in your mind. Many people attempted to sign the petition in the Crown Rooms and could not because of the programing and never followed up on it as they were consumed with their regular business.

Perhaps if this programing could be changed, you would see a second wave of signatures as the DL board members would be motivated to get active in the movement again. Please consider this thought, and if you are in agreement, post a thread on the DL board announcing the change and ask for their support again. The people that were active in SSM will help take up this call to arms, and remove the load off your back.

I would even go a step further. Why not have everybody add his SkyMiles number, establish a SSM pin, and this way being able to ADJUST the mileage and the membership level?
I did fly roughly 70K miles after signing up...

That would be something that sounds very interesting ... also we can keep the discussion alive like this.

Randy,
The people that have emailed you in the past regarding SSM are willing to get this on track and going again if you would jump start the SSM site. remove the block for multiple signups and please post a thread on the DL board to get everyone's attention. We will take over from that point.

Please take note of the following posts from the DL board.

Randy, take the one signup per computer feature off, As RSSRSVP said, it frustrated our efforts at the Crown Room level.

Randy,
all 5 members of my family are devout DL fliers. By the end of the year, we'll have a GM and 2 or 3 SM's.
When I registered for SSM and added my voice to the effort, I also tried to add all the rest of my family members. Could not do it. Thus, extra 4 SkyMiles members, and close to 500K miles have not been counted.
Pls remove the restriction! There must be more cases like mine.
Regards;
MileJunkie

Any news here? Should we go it alone or is Randy going to give us direction?

Randy, please let us know one way or another. This thing seems to be heading the same way as moderators. Maybe you will surprize us?

Maybe if we had moderators Randy would have more time to deal with this vs. spending less time moderating?
