Randy, Will you be adding Jet Blue?

Hi Randy,

Some of us have started flying JET BLUE recently. While there have been some glowing reports so far, I'm sure that won't last forever. Now that I think of it, since they still don't offer a FF program, there probaably won't be much to complain about for a while.
I'm sure somewhere along the line....

Thanks boss.

Maybe it will last forever ... maybe they'll end up second only to Midwest Express. Maybe "the big guys" will take notice. Ha!

In the near future there will be forum to discusss Jet Blue. The VP of Marketing there is a long time friend on mine from Virgin and they tell me they will have some sort of frequent flyer program (likely similar to Southwest) perhaps in Q3. So stay tuned......

Randy,

Any chance of getting your friend as part of a Live Chat? Would be nice to talk to a "start up" and dialogue around what they could put in a frequent flier program.

Just a thought.

Speaking of JetBlue... there's a great interview with David Neeleman (their CEO) in Issue 45 of Silicon Alley Reporter. Quite in-depth and revealing -- I heartily recommend it!

Some interesting points:
  • The CSRs actually work from their homes! When you call 1800JETBLUE, you're getting someone in their home, not in an office or call center.
  • Part of their strategy is to hire people who haven't worked in the airline industry before.
  • You can watch TV on the flight -- not some pre-selected, pre-edited flick. (25 cable channels)
  • Another major strategy is to speed up the efficiency of moving people on and off the planes.
  • And yes, he does mention that they are studying some kind of FF program...

"What do you mean you didn't get miles for that?!"
