Speaking of JetBlue... there's a great interview with David Neeleman (their CEO) in Issue 45 of Silicon Alley Reporter. Quite in-depth and revealing -- I heartily recommend it!
Some interesting points:
- The CSRs actually work from their homes! When you call 1800JETBLUE, you're getting someone in their home, not in an office or call center.
- Part of their strategy is to hire people who haven't worked in the airline industry before.
- You can watch TV on the flight -- not some pre-selected, pre-edited flick. (25 cable channels)
- Another major strategy is to speed up the efficiency of moving people on and off the planes.
- And yes, he does mention that they are studying some kind of FF program...
