Thanks for the update MilesChick .. when I heard "quarantined" and "food poisoning" it all sounded rather dire. Hope Randy recovers after asome rest.
Fallinasleep .. as usual with your now VERY tiresome anti-ozstamps personal flames you are 100% incorrect, and a gentleman would withdraw and apologise for those offensive and childish remarks above.(And why raise that groundless, ficticious nonsense Flame Attack in THIS of all threads anyway - it is a "GET WELL SOON" board for Randy, in his own Forum, in case you missed the point? You conveyed NO such sentiments I notice.
)
But seeing you raised it, and in case anyone is tempted to believe your lies, I am United's No #1 fan on this Bulletin Board, not just the United Forum, and continue to be so. My mail from UA is, and has always been, 100% positive and supportive. Folks at the highest level at UA personally appreciate my presence and input here - be my guest - go ask.
There have been several 100 FT'ers, including UA staff, post recently in the UA Forum on the short sighted, penny pinching cessation of front end services like Godiva chocolates, hot face towels, table linen, pepper and salt shakers, certain juices, menus, and Veuve Cliquot, amenity packs, etc, etc, in Business and First Class. Fallinasleep confuses friendly, good humoured satire with "complaint" methinks - see link below.
And as I am sure Randy would counsel to ANYONE with a view of this - you want to raise this matter again, take it to the UNITED Forum where it belongs, NOT here, where it does not.

Hey - let us thank Randy for starting the board, and join in wishing him a speedy and full recovery. However do not put too heavy a burden of monitoring squabbles upon his broad shoulders. Contributing to this board is what we each choose to do, so keep it light and good humoured, or opt out.
For those who cannot see it this way, feel negative or angry, why don't certain self-selected members go and organise a P.I.H. [H=hell] and enjoy themselves doing what they like best there. Am sure they could come up with some favoured locations and sports -- mud wrestling being one! The important thing is to keep that substance off the bored, and keep it where it belongs.
Randy -- come back fully recovered and enjoy our appreciation of all the good things about this board, which far outweigh the irksome titbits.

For those of us that don't party on this board all that often, we truly appreciate the wonderful efforts of the host (and staff) and the frequent flyer mavins for everyone to have an enjoyable experience. Not everone is so inclined and not everyone will, but virtually all contribute positively to this wonderful community; some neighbors will just never get along, but most do. I personally hope that Randy returns to good health with speed; he's got at least a couple of other fans out there (with good things to say) rooting for him as well.

Randy - I too hope you are on the way to a full recovery. I agree, being ill on the road is the pits.
Take some time out for you - you certainly deserve it. I look forward to your return to the boards in the near future.

I echo all the well wishes for Randy to a speedy recovery. I am saddened that threads need to be moderated and so on - just as much as I am that prized and well regarded members such as PremEx and Catman felt put upon enough that they left.
I had been considering offering to create a "new" unofficial UA helpdesk (it could never hope to fill in the void left by Mark's wonderful and tireless work) but have decided not to proceed due to various issues.
I won't get involved in the little flame war erupting, suffice to say I certainly agree with one side and certainly dispute, and could drag out ample posted evidence, with the claims of certain others, but what is the point? Randy formed this board for like minded people to get together, help eachother out, and exist in a world where people didn't look at you strangely for wanting to up your elite level, or get a few more miles (or who just didn't understand or have the travel bug). It was NOT formed for the membership to act like a bunch of kids in a sandpit.
I suppose though that this society of ours reflects all the good and bad parts of the world community as a whole.
Thank you for the updates, MilesChick - greatly apprieciated.

Arturo, this will work out perfect!!! I had a great idea to draw more people to the stand!!! You can be the organ grinder, and I'll be the dancing monkey!!! It's a no brainer... or wait, is that me?

Well, thanks for all the kind comments. I live for yet another day. The thing I'm most dissapointed is missing out on my meeting with FTers in Frankfurt. Yep, i was very sick, but if you ever need a very good doctor in Singapore, let me suggest Dr. Geoffrey Seah of the Twin Cities Medical Group at Great World City. Strange thing is that one of my employees was telling me that a friend of her's had a friend who was in Singapore the same time as I and was staying at the Crown Hotel and also contacted severe food poisoning and also was confined to her hotel for two days. Could be an X Files plot but it's good to be back and feeling well. Now it looks like I better get a few things done on this board. Again, thanks for all the comments.
