Pop-ups Again????

I'm getting pop-ups for some outfit called "lowest bids".

I thought there weren't going to be pop-ups on FlyerTalk any more?

The problem with "pop-ups" is that they don't work well with the board, at least for my configuration. Whenever I get a popup it "wipes out" my light bulbs and red folders.

Even more problematic is that I can't kill the pop up unless I completely exit the site all together

Even worse for me.

I get an error window, saying "an error has occurred on the script on this page. Do you want to continue running scripts?"

And then, the blankety-blank thing comes up every time I click on a new topic!

The pop-up window I can deal with, just click it off...but EVERY TIME?? And then to have to answer the above error msg with a yes or no, every time?

And BTW, it does not matter which I choose, it still goes on and on. I exited my web browser and restarted. Same result.

FT, do something about this,please.

I generally navigate multiple things at once (FlyerTalk, FT Chat, a word doc, etc.). Since the pop-ups started appearing today, everytime a new FT screen loads (clicking a hyperlink to a thread, a board, etc.) the FT window immediately pops on top. This is annoying.

It is annoying, but don't close it. Minimize it on your Task Bar it doesn't open again when changing threads or topics.

Ha! You're right - if you ignore it, it doesn't come back again and again.

However, something is slowing the loading of the board. Could it be the pop-up even though minimized?

What is happening?? The clicking sound it makes is completely driving me nuts! And please, what has LowestBids.com got to do with FlyerTalk? Someone's got to moderate the ads they suddenly have in here... look who's talking about posting on the wrong thread...

I tried the above, and while it did keep the whatever-the-heck it was priceline-type bid window from coming in, I STILL get the same %%%$$$%%% error window!

3 time now, while just trying to post a reply, same error message...

Gist of it is "Access is denied"

Then "Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?"

ARGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, for whomever is writing the program that do this, lissen up, you CRETINS!!!....

(1) Stop it
(2) This is unacceptable code. If your manager doesn't have the guts to fire you, I am available under subcontract to my company. Hire me, and I will not only fire him/her, I will make it completely clear why this idiot is terminated. And, don't worry, I will not lose one minute of sleep afterwards.
(3) FlyerTalk. This is still happening. I will NOT put up with it. Stop this however you have to, or I am gone. Period. I don't have time for clicking on multiple, nonsensical error messages.
(4) Just in case they are not nonsensical, please explain, IN A PUBLIC POST, just what, exactly, am I, PERSONALLY (because this was a personal message having to do with my FT session) trying to access? It ain't me, babe. And I deeply resent the indirect implication that I am trying to access something that you feel the need to deny...subsection follows...
(a) I want to know just WHAT you claim I am trying to access.
(b) I want to know just WHY you feel the need to deny me this access
(c) I want to see some PROOF that I am PERSONALLY trying to access something that is forbidden
(d) I want either the name and phone number of you stupid-butt programmer, or I want him/her to call me and explain, not their code, but the rationalle of that code.

Otherwise, goodbye, FT. I do not have time for this.

I came here to post myself about this RIDICULOUS pop up thing, and I'm glad it's already been brought up. This is TRULY STUPID! i'm sure it will be gone within a day or two..but I do have to questions who's stupid idea this was in the first place, or whether this was some hacker, because I CAN'T believe that the House of Miles would have agreed to such CRAP.

DON'T MONOPOLIZE MY COMPUTER!!!!!

Extremely slow loading tonight, with no lightbulbs, chatbox cannot load the Javascript, forums only half-appear, then lock up. What is going on with FT tonight?

aflyer:

I'm really glad you posted this, because in all truth, I had not thought of that possibility.

Perhaps, FlyerTalk had nothing to do with it,

In any case, for what it's worth:
* I wrote Randy Peterson reiterating what I posted here, and asked for a reply from about it.
* As for viruses, it has been a month or two, to my discredit, since I have uploaded the latest and greatest McAfee anti-virus updates, so I could be at fualt here.

But dang it, this just doesn't have the feel of a virus. It has the feel of a really rotten programming job put here by our hosts.

I hope I'm wrong.
