opus17: My scientific mind tells me that it makes sense, the more one posts, the better the chance of being flamed.
???
I only remember being flamed by a total of 3 Flyertalkes since the start of Flyertalk (and to one of them, the last one, I never replied to any of his about 5 flaming posters which then stopped - seems to be a good recipee).

And Rudi, by supplying informative, humorous, polite posts, you have certainly minimized your chances of being flamed...

What a wonderful place these boards would be if we all strove to emulate Rudi.
p.s. Please don't tell him I said this. I don't want him to get a grand, Teutonic, big head.

Rudi did make an arrogant statement and I went after him for a few posts. I received at least 10 sympathy e-mails, and only one that stood up for him at the time. I am not a flamer, but was actually offended by his attitude. I took his silence to be embarrassment, and only sought an apology.
Had I been a flamer, I would have gone on and on. In short I stopped as my point was made.

Dear hyfly,
Might I please share with you a technique which I am trying to develop, but sadly have not yet perfected, within myself.
When I encounter a situation which causes me concern, I try to avoid jumping to any conclusions whatsoever and, instead, attempt to gently and privately approach the person and or persons involved and share my concerns with them. Most often I find that the root of the problem was not their intent, but my misinterpretation. This is especially true when dealing with persons who have a different native language, different background, different culture and different lifestyle than I.
This technique has saved me much embarrassment and made me many friends in places where I could easily have created enemies had I been so impulsive as to let my emotions get the better of me.

Randy,
I would have expected some more cancelled accounts by now.
Any time frame for these additional moves?

Would it not be an idea to cancel the accounts of those people who by their admission have multiple logins?
Also, would it not be best to cancel the user name(s) that have the highest number of posts to their name?

That would sadden me Markie as I am admitted multiple poster. I have a very few posts as iknuP and (I am ashamed to say) as Even Steven.
I do believe, however, that I have learned from my transgressions, and despite my imperfections should be allowed to continue, for better or for worse, as Punki, a name I have endured and enjoyed for more than half a century.

Excellent point!
Will the already posted TOS also be more fully enforced to eliminate the persistent flamers who choose to unendingly harass FTer's and/or who knowingly post misinformation and slander unrepentently, if they show absolutely no inclination to ever stop?
This is very unfortunate, IMHO, as it lends itself to us necessarily having further moderation/moderators and even more censorship like activity. Yet increasingly real longtime contributors are posting less and even effectively dropping out. They are tiring of the "nonsense" as reflected not only in the FT posts, but so much more so via email exchanges. It would seem that some further action is perhaps necessary at this point!

"...Your suggestion would delete many valuable contributors from this community such as Rudi, PremEx, NJDavid, Punki, doc and others. ..."
And let's not forget cigarman, onefreeman and ozstamps, as well as others who may have not yet disclosed themselves!
BTW- seems my name mistakingly appears on this list of "valuable contributors!"
Yet let's please remember that we are ALL valuable contributors!
And VERY likely that none of us is perfect! Remember that even Randy once logged into the Flyertalk chat under a new and a totally unknown moniker and he failed to properly and expeditiously identify himself! Yes, remember the PrivateJet chat!
I think we can ALL perhaps forgive him and everyone else for that matter, as I already have!
IMHO, it's the present and future behavior that we should focus on!
UPDATE: Thanks very much for the edit Essxjay!

With all due respect to the folks who brought this back up...
WHY ARE YOU BRINGING THIS BACK UP?
Wouldn't an e-mail to Randy asking for follow-up serve the same purpose?

None, nada, zip.
Of course that equals the results of his promise of "future actions".
Isn't it at all rather disgusting to you that the cause of most (if not all) this mess still remains not only unrepentant but that his multiple personnae still inhabit the boards? Am I the only one to see a dichotomy in the way this whole matter has been handled?
