Now maybe DL will change theirs to "any activity" to match AA & hopefully UA...

I did receive a note from MP cust service saying that 1998 miles which were extended last year will not be extended, only genuine 1999 miles. Must have 20K in account. However, I hope this new announcement comes soon since the bulk of my expiring miles are from 1998!

I doubt it Shadow - why should they? One flight every three years is hardly an onerous requirement.

james: That's certainly not a problem for most of us, especially Beckles and me. I guess I was hoping for a 'gamesmanship' plot to unfold... "Well, I'll see your better pitch & unexpiring miles and raise you..."

looks like the UA dream came true, james... Now we need DL to do it too.
I'm not gloating, mind you. I like it!

There is a hook to the reinstatement of 1998 miles which I did not read in the announcements. You must fly one domestic RT by Dec AND register at (800)645-4502, code 49. It did seem too good to be true, didn't it?

Karen2 Thank you, but...

I dialed the number and entered the code and the recording said you have to fly TWO paid domestic flights or one intl between 8/9 and 12/31.

Unfortunately, this will not help me keep my miles, as I will only be flying UA once more this year, in about ten days.

ranles: can't you break that one flight down in two segments? (2 different flight#) - or may be and you get bumped (volunteer - and ask for crediting the bumped flight too).

Actually, I thought you had to fly two round trips or one international round trip, not just flights or segments ...
