Hi, I sent the application form for being a moserator but accidently enter my username as gordo66. Do I have to re-send to form or will it be OK?

Actually, if you don't mind, could you re-fill out the application and then copy it and send directly to me: randy at insideflyer.com.
I know this is a real inconvenience and my apologies. For three months now there have been some email form problems experienced by Internet Brands and any applications sent during this period are unknown to us and we don't know who to ask to resend to my personal email address since mod apps and emails to [email protected] as well as others have been generally undelivered. They are working on it and the only workaround for right now is to send this independent of FlyerTalk and to my personal attention.
Again, very sorry and I look forward to seeing your application. Our members interest in helping our other members is very much appreciated.

On this issue, I applied back at the beginning of the year for a mods position and have heard nothing back. I assume it is best to fill in the form again and resend and copy it. I note that you don't want people to use hotmail accounts, however I use hotmail for FT, is this a problem? Otherwise I can also send the email from my work account but not that keen to blur business with pleasure

Randy,
I have sent my mod application now twice and neither of them were acknowledged or any feedback given and I know I am not the only one in this situation. Would it not be useful to have a time line published on the help pages?:
1. Application is acknowledged as having been received
2. Decision (yes/no/on hold) can be expected in x weeks/months
3. Decision is being communicated to FTs
It would be nice for FTs willing to assist in the smooth running of the site not being left in limbo not knowing where they stand.
Just my two cents

We used to have a system but late last year, Internet Brands has some problems with message delivery and unfortunately Moderator applications was one of those victims. In the old system we were able to track the interests and as well auto-reply receipt of the application. I let the volunteers know at the time so they could assist any member who was wondering but that was still an imperfect process. So we're sort of manually trying to identify any interest as best we can right now subject to the old system getting back to being workable and I know Internet Brands has been trying to resolve the problem.
Please accept my personal apology for the breakdown.
As a point of reference, we really haven't added many new volunteers this year and typically they have come from a return of a trained Moderator from a sabbatical or reassignment of another. I'm thinking we've only added one or two new volunteers this year, so the balance of needs to interest is sort of a bottleneck.
This bottleneck is one reason why we are soon to be testing an "Ambassador" program is several forums. While it could be considered ModLite, it's really a program that seeks to acknowledge members such as yourself that are sincere in wanting to give something back to FlyerTalk and that is to add more of these volunteers to assist our newest members. FlyerTalk is huge. FlyerTalk can be confusing and the shear amount of information on FlyerTalk for some topics actually makes it more difficult to find, sort through and use. These Ambassadors will be like our already helpful members, only they will be a but more proactive to welcome our newest members and as well participate in threads that seek to consolidate Q/As for these newer members. I'll include you on the list of Ambassador candidates once we get a little closer to the rollout of the test.
Again, very sorry for the breakdown in managing moderator applications, it's not intended to signal that your interest is not important or valuable and I hope that is not the cae.
Cheers,
Randy

Randy,
Appreciate the feedback, systems sometimes fail. God knows those of us dealing with loyalty programmes know this probably better than most
