We used to have a system but late last year, Internet Brands has some problems with message delivery and unfortunately Moderator applications was one of those victims. In the old system we were able to track the interests and as well auto-reply receipt of the application. I let the volunteers know at the time so they could assist any member who was wondering but that was still an imperfect process. So we're sort of manually trying to identify any interest as best we can right now subject to the old system getting back to being workable and I know Internet Brands has been trying to resolve the problem.
Please accept my personal apology for the breakdown.
As a point of reference, we really haven't added many new volunteers this year and typically they have come from a return of a trained Moderator from a sabbatical or reassignment of another. I'm thinking we've only added one or two new volunteers this year, so the balance of needs to interest is sort of a bottleneck.
This bottleneck is one reason why we are soon to be testing an "Ambassador" program is several forums. While it could be considered ModLite, it's really a program that seeks to acknowledge members such as yourself that are sincere in wanting to give something back to FlyerTalk and that is to add more of these volunteers to assist our newest members. FlyerTalk is huge. FlyerTalk can be confusing and the shear amount of information on FlyerTalk for some topics actually makes it more difficult to find, sort through and use. These Ambassadors will be like our already helpful members, only they will be a but more proactive to welcome our newest members and as well participate in threads that seek to consolidate Q/As for these newer members. I'll include you on the list of Ambassador candidates once we get a little closer to the rollout of the test.
Again, very sorry for the breakdown in managing moderator applications, it's not intended to signal that your interest is not important or valuable and I hope that is not the cae.
Cheers,
Randy
