Post Sheryl announces her return to BFT

Since Sheryl and her operation of Bidding for Travel were the subjects of so many posts in various threads, you might want to know that she has notified the world of her imminent return to active duty on BFT. So be careful.

Hopefully we'll see her return to posting on FT, also. She was a regular contributor here for a number of years.

I just got the email re: the "new" site - new domain, same ol' interface. I truly hope it functions better.

I got the notice, too. One thing that is puzzling to me is why EXPEDIA is part of the 'title' now "pricelineandexpediabidding.yuku" (bolding mine).

I was just about to post this to FT . . . As much as we have loved to hate her, it just wasn't the same message board without her. I hope that she returns both to clean up the place but also to help people with a bit nicer spirit . . . maybe??

I know it's saved me hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars.

Am I missing something? When I go to the biddingfortravel site, I don't get any of the content (states, cities, hotel lists, etc.) that I've been using for the past five or so years.

That's what the title has always been. History: Microsoft started Expedia and included a bidding section that copied Priceline. BFT was for both - hence the name. Priceline has a patent on the process and took Expedia to court. In a settlement, Priceline's exclusivity resulted. Then Expedia started Hotwire as its way around the PL patent but BFT avoided dealing with information for that site, which led to an opening for Better Bidding.
Follow-up: The address has now been changed to remove the "Expedia" part - finally. It's now "www.biddingfortravel.yuku.com"

pricelineandexpediabidding.yuku.

Now that's a mouthful. Hopefully, they will keep the redirect in place by typing in biddingfortravel.com.

Maybe Sheryl has been reading How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie during her time off.
