Kayak says that it expects my trip to become cheaper
I'm doing a RT WAW-MSY-WAW in late April, returning in late July, and I'm ready to buy, but Kayak says I should wait since it thinks the price will go down. Should I believe in its prognostication?

Hard to tell, given the current challenges on the gulf.
WAW did not use to be that big of a hub, but if the Gulf carrier continue to struggle I would not fully rule it out.
Try to figure out in what fare it would put you.
Check if this fare would have any selling conditions (e.g. purchase 14 days ahead, 30 days ahead and the like).
Check the load on your flights.
Then you can make a more informed decision.
