For those who just bought one before the new discount: change your first flight! The ticket will have to be reissued against the new rate!

I booked just 10 days ago. If I change the first flight, is this classified as a cancellation that therefore incurs a 5% penalty (DONE4)?

No - it should be a reissue at the currently prevailing price. There is no penalty.

Presumably - I can't see how it would work otherwise.

That is my understanding too. In theory there should not even be a $125 reissue fee since there is no route change. Would not count on that too much though.

Have I overlooked a link to the specifics of these changes? If not, does anyone have access to the specifics?

Thanks in advance!

Sweet! I picked the right day to log back onto FT for the first time in a while

Now all they have to do is roll back the price change in South Korea and I'd be one happy camper ;P
