Shame - sometimes feel like carrying a copy of the lounge access card with you?
You have however inspired me to do a JNB-WDH return tag during a JNB turnaround I have coming up - that or a JNB-CPT-DUR-JNB triangle.

“The next thing we are working on is to provide interlining for Oneworld members. Qantas is a member of Oneworld and we would like to be the connecting point for Oneworld members,’’ Chong said, adding that “we expect to grow passengers with our interlining arrangements.”

Will be watching that with interest. Would be nice if in time if Jetstar / Jetstar Asia / etc were to come into OW (like Dragonair did via CX for e.g.), but as its a low-cost carrier I doubt very much that is going to happen or that QF has any interest in it happening.

ISTR reports earlier this (in light of the discontinuance of "QF" metal within NZ) that Qantas were negotiating to get their codeshares on JQ metal as options for xONEx's.

QF wants it both ways..... Play the low cost card with NZ, yet at the same time think they can try and get intl connection traffic utilising OW. Needless to say, I can just imagine some OW pax reactions when they end up on a JQ flight, let alone not earn any miles.

It is a great pity that JQ is not part of OneWorld. QF had been giving too many route to them! JQ is not that cheaper than any other airlines when you add everything together. I would welcome JQ to OW as long as you can earn miles on the discounted Y class and OW benefits applies. However, in Long Haul I will only choose QF rather than JQ.

This is completely irrelevant, I'm sure, but 9W (Jet Airways) at LHR is moving from T3 to T4--away from OneWorld and towards Skyteam, given the shapes of overall LHR moves.

I'd love to see an African airline join. ET would be ideal but since it looks like its going to Star we may be stuck with waiting for Arik to expand or to poach ET. And an Indian airline like Jet would be a great addition.
But thinking a little closer to home what do folks think about Oneworld going after Porter (PD)? Its a top quality airline and is growing. Or does the cozying up between WestJet and AA/BA/CX nix any thought of Porter?
Porter has a great hub at YTZ and already fly to Boston, Chicago and NYC. Granted they would likely have to move from MDW to ORD. And it would be tough for them to move into LGA but AA has 12 nonstops weekdays LGA-YYZ and three JFK-YYZ. So in theory AA and PD could work out a deal. With AC threatening to pry its way into YTZ PD might welcome an alliance with AA/OW.
