xONEx payment processing times

Hey All,

Recently booked a DONE4 with LAN airlines - booked just over a week ago. I had an email come through from LAN pretty much straight away asking for additional information such as the issuing bank, so I had to contact them with that. Thankfully they have a number in Australia to call which made that nice and easy.

However, they still havent been able to process my card. Each time I speak to someone they say they need to speak to oneworld and I get put on hold for 5 mins, they then come back and say it should issue within the next 24 hours and if it doesnt, to call back.

Now, I've made a few calls over the week (I want to lock in a pretty good value AUD/USD conversion) but don't really seem to be getting anywhere with the payment being processed....

Has anyone else been in the same boat? Am I just being inpatient?

Given I booked online I kind of thought it would all just go through pretty painlessly. I hoped I could just contact oneworld myself and say whats going on, but I dont think thats an option.

Cheers

Hayden

I've never had any problems.
Before this year, I just went to the local Qantas Travel, planned out the flights, paid by EFTPOS and had the ticket issued the next day.
This year, I used the online tool with 'credit'. AA sent the ticket through in about 4 days.

I used the online booking tool for a DONE4 out of ICN. As I was flying to Helsinki on the first segment, the ticket was issued on Finnair stock. I booked the itinerary on a Thursday and recieved confirmation immediately but by Monday it had still not ticketed.

I called them and they said the ticket would issue in the next 48 hours. Given that some time had already passed, I decided to change the credit card used in order to maximise the payment due date for me. They were happy to make the change. The ticket was issued a couple of hours later.

Some tickets are issued immediately, some hours, days or even weeks after you say "go". It depends on the airline and where the ticketting request sits in their queue. Obviously, the closer to the flight date, the sooner they will issue the ticket (and charge your cc).

LAN has always been slow to ticket for me. Sometimes it works to your advantage and sometimes not.

Hmmm well I guess I'll wait another week or so then before ringing back - it doesn't appear to make them hurry at all. Given my first flight isn't for another 2 months they probably dont see the hurry in processing it - hard to convince them to do it for conversion reasons!

I've also ticketed through LAN and still haven't been charged nearly 3 months after booking via Oneworld online booking tool. Not that I'm complaining as it's now about 10% cheaper than I had originally thought I'd be paying.
I'll have to contact them soon to make some date changes, so I'll see if they've been having problems trying to charge my credit card as well.

I was actually charged this morning - so that was about 10 days or so after making the booking online. Worked a little bit in my favour from my initial calculations, currency movements meant I saved around $300.
