I find IB intra-European flights bad, from start to finish, even in biz.

I find them quite good up-front (flown Business a few times with them on UK to Spain routes)... but not sure I would ever fly down the back with them ever again. Still in therapy from a Y trip with them a couple of years ago!

On the subject of IB and OW however, I have found Iberia the OW carrier that most recognises status, funnily enough - I have been upgraded by them on almost every single trip I have ever taken with them (in fact on every trip I have taken with them that involved a short-haul flight connecting to a meduim-haul flight they have upgraded me on the short-haul on both the outbound and the inbound).

Shame that when I was stuck down the back it was so bloody awful !

I have only flown IB intra-Europe once (Zurich/Madrid) and long distance once (MAD/JNB), both in business. The intra-Europe experience was very pleasant indeed, with the best dinner I have had across BA, AF, LH, LX, AY in the last 3 years. Thr long distance product does not remotely compare with BA and CX, or even QF.

[QUOTE=dankyone;10618549]While IB can certainly be frustrating to deal with if anything goes wrong, I think they treated me more than fairly as an AA Plat when I lived in Madrid.

I had lounge access in MAD when I was traveling anywhere on IB or BA (which was pretty much wherever I wanted to go) even though I was on discounted Y tickets.QUOTE]

So they granted you lounge access as an AA Plat/OW Sapphire even when travelling on economy? How amazingly generous of them

A OW carrier managed to honour a published OW Sapphire benefit.

Knock me over with a feather!

What's next, shock that OW Emerald benefits are honoured even on award tickets?
