Ow Lounges In Nrt

I will be travelling through NRT next week, MCO-MNL, OW airlines. I will have a couple of hours and want to enjoy the nicest lounge there, before my EMERALD status expires. I think JAL first clas is the best, but it looks like one will be closed. How about BA and QF? In BKK their FIRST lounge is really nice, better then CX-BKK. I do not think I will have enough time to visit all of them. Thanks

I'm going to move this on to the OneWorld forum, as that appears to be the appropriate home for it.

QF have only recently opened their own Qantas Club there (recently being 2008). I am not sure if it has a First lounge attached, but that would be worth checking out.

JL F lounge is great
QF lounge (no separate F section) is also good, but limited hours (and it is in the satellite terminal)
AA lounge blah
CX lounge also blah
JL J lounge blah

The only ones I'd bother visiting are JL F and QF.

My vote:

CX lounge is the most blah of all.

I like the AA lounge for the showers and the view...
but then I move over to JAL J lounge, which I like. They have miso soup, noodles, sushi, salad, sake, etc.

Haven't checked out the Qantas one yet.

I haven't been to the F side of JAL yet, so perhaps that's why I'm happy with the J.

Kiwi's ranking is perfect. The only thing I would add is that the AA lounge is blah+. It is actually one of the nicer AA lounges, very spacious, nice seating, computers, views etc.

The JL F lounge is very nice, not quite the SYD Flounge, LHR Flounge or HKG Wing/Pier but still up there.

FWIW it's an easy walk from AA's AC at NRT to a smoking lounge. Probably ought to be another thread ... where to light up when changing planes int'l ...

Last time I was in the JL J lounge it had a great smoking area (well, for smokers). I think it's still there.

Arrow New Question: Opening Times?

Hello all,
Not trying to redirect the thread, but I'm wondering if anyone knows off the top of the head which lounge opens earliest? I get in around 6am and am meeting a friend outside customs a little after 8 -- was hoping to grab a shower after my red-eye inbound.

I know the AA Admirals Club is now open at 7:30, but I was hoping for earlier. I looked at the JL website, but couldn't find anything about their lounges.

I'm OW Emerald, so I should be able to get into any of them and the earliest opener with showers gets the prize.

Thanks in advance!

No arrivals lounge at NRT T2

[QUOTE=Telfes;10076540]Hello all,

At T2 there is no arrivals lounge. You can only go up to the departure level where the lounges are if you have an onward sameday T2 departing boarding card. If you are inbound on JL in F you get free use (it is 500Y otherwise) of the public "shower facility" next to the JR ticket office on the basement level. it is fine ... utilitarian but gets the job done so to speak.

JL lounge opens rather early, but as it is airside you need an onward departing BP or ticket to get access.

I've got an evening flight out, so I will have an onward AA boarding pass. I'm just spending the day. I figured in worst case scenario, I'd wait until 7:30 and be first in line for the Admiral's Club showers, but it would be less of a rush if I could shower in another lounge that was open earlier than 7:30. Plus I wouldn't have to sit around loungeless for an hour or more.

I'll look into the JL departures lounge. Thanks! If anyone actually has exact opening times, that would be fabulous -- though I'm not complaining, as you've given me very good leads already.

Arigato!

I'm not sure of the exact times for JL but I arrived on a red-eye flight that was one of the first to land for the day. IIRC I had a short wait until the lounge opened.

There is sometimes a wait to get back to the departure terminal through transit. I arrived on QF and had to queue for a while until just after 7.00am. The JL first lounge in the past was reserved for JL first passengers and not OWE, this may have changed now. Good luck in getting a shower. I paid for 2 hours in the day room, 1500 yen, booked online a month before departure. Shower, bed, quiet fantastic aftr a night flight.
