16 or 20 Segments Allowed Before 6/1???

I spoke with QF...they said I am would be limited to 16 segments of a AONE4..they they put me on hold and came back and said that I can have 20 segments if ticketed by 5/31. The reservation cancelled out and I re-booked with CX...they have now come back and said I can only have 16 segments.

What's the rule?

CX is also saying I can't fly BOS-LGA to take a flight from JFK to LAX...that the same day open jaw counts as as a segment and I am at the segment limit, but I thought LGA and JFK were considered co-terminus for these purposes???

Your thoughts?

Surface sectors count as a segment, even for co-terminals now.

I thought NY airports all counted as one...I can fly to JFK earlier on AA or take Jet Blue for $64 (which makes the most sense)...thanks.

What about the 16 or 20 segment question?

You can still get 20 segments on a paper ticket until June 1st, so it is incorrect if someone told you otherwise. But all surface segments count towards the total, even if you are just changing airports in NYC or LON.

As long as ticketed by 1 June you can have 20 segments. This includes any surface segments (and co-terminals are surface segments now).

Changing between airports in the same city will count towards your total limit of 20 segments but not against the limit of 6 or 4 flights per continent.
