*ONE* Open First Segment?

Can the first segment be open? I didn't see this specifically in the rules, but there is an indirect reference: "If the outbound intercontinental sector is open dated charge the peak season fare..." (from http://www.oneworld.com/content/libr...rule_sheet.pdf), but I couldn't find a specific statement that this either is or is not allowed.

No, since the date of the first flight determines the 1 year validity of the ticket. The reference to outbound intercontinental sector is for those instances on a LONEx fare where the first flight is not an intl segment. AFAIK, there are no seasonal price differences for DONE's and AONE's.

My understanding is also that you can't change the dates or other details of your first international flight, although I'm not sure whether you can change the dates and other details for your preceeding flights. Perhaps someone else can clarify.
