I can call the 800 number directly but it might end up costing as much as the ticket itself...

Yes. There'd be a 3 week ticketing deadline, but AA NRT might be amenable to extending the deadline to whenever you arrive when you ring up to discuss payment. Some AAgents will do it, others won't - so you have to ring up and call again if you get the latter.

The AA counter is open 0915-1840.

Ohh - thanks for the AT&T tip. I'd seriously not known about it till now... So to clarify - I'd just need to dial the Optus number followed by AA USA on either my Optus landline or mobile phone, and get to talk for free?

The ATW desk in the US is 1800 247 3247 though.

IME ATT Direct does not work with all 800 numbers. With the EXP Desk it works fine, but not with other numbers I have tried.

Is oneworld site not up to date as it shows 743200 Yen or AU$7526.70 at the moment?

It seems to have mysteriously reverted to the pre-increase prices a few days ago. Also, the old rules are posted, so don't go by those either. Site buggy. So what else is new?

Hmmm,

I did seem to remember the new prices were published and vaguely the rules. I thought it was just me ...

However you give me new found confidence in my memory ...

I wonder if it's deliberate or simply a symptom of another issue?
