BMED update; loss of destinations/countries
BMED (BA affiliate) was bought by BMI earlier this year and will officially start operating as BMI on Oct 28th. After this you won't be able to earn/use Oneworld miles on these routes, and therefore won't be valid for OWE's either. That's a huge loss of destinations/countries for Oneworld
From the BMED website:
bmi will continue to operate BMED's 17 routes: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Aleppo, Syria; Alexandria, Eqypt; Almaty, Kazakhstan; Amman, Jordan; Ankara, Turkey; Baku, Azerbaijan; Beirut, Lebanon; Bishkek, Kyrgystan; Dakar, Senegal; Damascus, Syria; Ekaterinburg, Russia; Freetown, Sierra Leone; Khartoum, Sudan; Tbilisi, Georgia; Tehran, Iran; Yerevan, Armenia.
Some of these are still covered

Also -- I know its not oneworld but its an AA and a BA core partner and many of us hope it will join oneworld -- but SN flies to DKR six days a week and Freetown twice a week.

I assume that this is already ticketed ? If it is you will be allowed to fly it though of course it wont earn miles on any programme other than BA's . If it is not yet ticketed then you are presumably S.O.O.L.

Its been booked but not ticketed yet. I could always just go to IST instead. Thanks for the info.
