BMED update; loss of destinations/countries
BMED (BA affiliate) was bought by BMI earlier this year and will officially start operating as BMI on Oct 28th. After this you won't be able to earn/use Oneworld miles on these routes, and therefore won't be valid for OWE's either. That's a huge loss of destinations/countries for Oneworld :(
From the BMED website: bmi will continue to operate BMED's 17 routes: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Aleppo, Syria; Alexandria, Eqypt; Almaty, Kazakhstan; Amman, Jordan; Ankara, Turkey; Baku, Azerbaijan; Beirut, Lebanon; Bishkek, Kyrgystan; Dakar, Senegal; Damascus, Syria; Ekaterinburg, Russia; Freetown, Sierra Leone; Khartoum, Sudan; Tbilisi, Georgia; Tehran, Iran; Yerevan, Armenia. Some of these are still covered ADD : no ALP : RJ ALY/HBE : RJ ALA : no AMM : RJ ESB : no BAK/GYD : no BEY : RJ,MA FRU : no DKR : IB DAM : RJ,MA SVX : MA FNA : no KRT : RJ TBS : no THR : no EVN : no |

At least RJ joined OW otherwise the loss would have been even greater.

I have a LHR - ESB flight with BMI (BA Codeshare) as part of my LONE5 for next year. Is this going to be a problem?

I assume that this is already ticketed ? If it is you will be allowed to fly it though of course it wont earn miles on any programme other than BA's . If it is not yet ticketed then you are presumably S.O.O.L.
