LONE4 Open Tickets?
Hi Guys,
I have some open tickets left for our LONE4. I called up to reserve dates for two flights and the customer service rep i would need to go to the airport to have tickets reissued? They gave me a record locator. Is it worth it to go down to the airport to have the tickets reprinted or just show up at time of flight and do it?
Thanks for your help!

What carrier are the flights on and did you change any routing?
If the carrier is AY or BA, then you may have to get them stickered. That can be done at the airport. If you changed a routing, you will need a reissue.
If all you did was a date/time change, then you don't need a reissue. Just have the agent make a reservation.
If you spoke with AA non-RTW-desk, call the RTW desk and they will straighten it out. Otherwise, I would just verify that the agent didn't do anything out of the ordinary and just made a standard reservation.

Just call reservations and say that you have an existing open ticket (don't mention "round the world" or "oneworld explorer" it just scares reservations staff unnecessarily) and ask for reservations on the sectors you require in L class and give them the ticket number. Make a note of the PNR. Check in as normal.
The contract for OneWorld Explorer tickets allows for "service fees" for re-issues. A re-issue is not needed in this case since open-dated ticket coupons are explicitly allowed in the contract you have. The contract does not allow for service fees for use of open-dated segments, so refuse any attempt to charge you for "stickering".

yea i called the rtw aa desk and the cust rep could not pull up my route or anything on my itinerary because the remaining tickets were "open", i just got the reservation locator # and was told to go to the airport to get tickets. But i already have the paper ticket, just not the date and time printed on it.
I'll make sure they don't try to charge me to sticker or print another ticket.
