I tried calling AA to use my miles to fly in May, JFK-GYE and the agent wasn't able to see any Lan Ecuador flights.
I know it's supposed to commence April 1st.
Has anyone been successful booking a flight using AA miles on Lan Ecuador?

LAN Ecuador isn't yet a member of One world. Unless it is a specified non alliance partner of AAdvantage (I don't think so), you will not be able to book awards on LAN Ecuador flights until 1 April.

I called back (thank you Miami) and had to go through two agents and sit on hold while they learned about booking Lan Ecuador Flights.
You can book now but the coach class seats are basically booked for the rest of the year. Biz class is available though for 60k and it's worth it for a direct flight which is about 5 hours.
Now I need to know, from all you savy flyers, if I'm better off using my advantage miles to book or convert my Lan Pass miles to AA? Which way is the better deal.

If you mean collecting miles on one airline FFP and then use them to fly on any OW airline, under the original FFP rules, then yes, but that is as far as it goes. Generally speaking the miles are not convertible across FFPs.

You say not easily but if I only have 10k KM what else could I do with them?
I only fly once a year on lan and plan to use my aa miles primarily. I don't like to let my miles sit around. I looked into Points.com but don't know if that's worth the effort.
Any serious suggestions?
