AAdvantage points in L on CX/QF

I'm on a LONE6 ticket and will have completed my Platinum challenge just as I enter Asia and Australisa (westwards)

I fly 10622 miles on CX and will currently earn 0 AA miles. If I have a LANPass I can convert via HHonours to 1500 AA miles. Is there a more efficient way of making these miles count?

Additionally I fly 8063 miles on QF and with the 0.7 multiplier and my platinum status I expect to earn 11288 AA Miles. Can I earn more from these miles too?

Thanks

You could credit CX to Asiamiles and earn 10K+ points. Even if you never credit anything else to Asiamiles again, that is enough points for a Samsonite Penguin carryon (actually shaped like a penguin!) -- now who can resist that as a memento of this trip. Asiamiles is moderately good for some things, like upgrades on BA/CX (ie things you cannot use AA miles for). So it isn't quite like having orphan miles, and 10K Asiamiles seems much better value than 1.5K AA miles.

Both CX and QF "L" class earn 100% mileage on ALASKA's MVP programme. Unfortunately they do not earn towards status tiers. But hey, that's better than nothing right?

if you fly 8063 miles on QF in L class you will earn 50% miles of 4032 and a platinum bonus of 4032 giving a total of 8064. Earning on QF hasn't been 70% for a long while

Thanks for that Dave - the FewMiles AAdvantage FAQ I was using must have been out of date.

As for the Penguin carry-on - YES!

The FewMiles data has not been updated in years (the AA FAQ contains a warning about it).

Sounds like long flights on on QF/CX. The long flights usually have AA codeshare flight numbers. Try to change to the AA flight number, and then you get all the miles.

While using the AA codeshare is a good idea, it simply isn't available in L on most routes (AA chooses to offer only a few fare codes for codeshares; A and D are often available and L is often not available).

For current mileage earning and qpoint earning details, I would suggest sticking to aa.com since it has the definitive details

How would I find if there are any AA codeshares? Particularly for HKG-DEL, SYD-JNB and HKG-AKL?

Thanks

You look in the schedule on aa.com, if a codeshare exists it will show it. But all codeshares are extensions of AA metal flights (so one of the O/D cities must have native AA service); this makes it very unlikely that any of your 3 routes would ever have an AA codeshare.

I am not aware of any "good" (AA/LA/AY) codeshares on HKG-DEL, SYD-JNB and HKG-AKL.

I'd send it the 10K+ on to CX Asiamiles. 10K will get a one-way ticket from HKG to a short-hop destination (such as KHH, HAK, KWL), and a round-trip is only 15K. Those are usually very expensive tickets too.
