Route Check DONE4
Can someone please validate this routing on a DONE4? I am particularly concerned about going ASIA-SWP-EUROPE-NA-ASIA. Thanks in advance.

Only 1 transcon allowed in Australia, so SYD-PER-SYD is not allowed. You can do SYD-PER-CBR instead, or SYD-PER-ADL-SYD at the cost of another sector. Otherwise it looks fine.

be more comfortable journeys? (BOM-HKG is via BKK of course) The former would also free up an SWP sector for SYD-PER-ADL-SYD.

Technically, yes, it is fewer flights to use BOM/HKG/MEL. However, I am trying to use as many BA flights as possible because there is a promotion on right now for a 50,000 miles bonus for each 2 one-way flights in ClubWorld or First flown before 18 December 2006.

Cathay in the US is telling me that I cannot do Asia-SWP-(Asia)-Europe as this is backtracking. I am very surprised but cannot convince them otherwise. They say that from SWP, I must continue across the Pacific to North America or South America and then across the Atlantic to Europe!

Just insist and ask them to put it to their rate desk. The problem you've got is some front line agent who thinks s/he knows the rules and clearly doesn't. Insist that she consults the internal experts.

Thanks! Where are the TCs explained?

Does not show USA or Canada as a part of the TC1 description. Is that supposed be be Longhaul sub-area? I guess one can try to read between the lines and figure it all out. I went to the IATA site and spend a long time seraching but could not find anything clear-cut which shows TC1, TC2, TC3!
