currency exchange rate after ticket purchase

Was just wondering if anyone has had luck asking a travel agent to refund a credit card and charge it again after purchasing an xOnex to take advantage of a significant change in the currency exhange rate.

Wouldn't the cc refund be at the now current forex rate?

you're right - didn't think of that!

I wonder though if the reverse is true - could you make money by refunding a ticket that had appreciated in value?

Yes, you could, but I think that if I felt a currency was heading south (or north) I would talk to my broker, not to AA.
