General Questions about CX831 along with oneWorld status
Was ignored at CX thread so I'll write here. Need to get ball rolling on oneWorld account, due to fact that I am stateside and fly a lot of NW. Only mileage coming from Hotels so far. Booked CX831 RT guaranteed J seat (plan to upgrade to F) JFK-HKG. Sounds grueling indeed. I do not want stops anywhere, just need to get to HKG. General questions though...
1- I am based out of BWI, what would be the fastest way within the oneWorld network EXCLUDING American Eagle? Had a bad experience with them, don't really feel like taking them again. Will consider coming out of IAD and DCA
2- If there is no fastest way w/in oneWorld, would driving be the better alternative?
3- What lounges within oneWorld other than CX can I access in JFK (assuming I do not get upgrade to F AND on the basis that I am oneWorld Sapphire?).
4- How is the check-in or transfer desk for CX at JFK? Only team being there was once back in early 90s on BA.
5- How many meals are served on this flight?
Thanks for your help.

2. your choice to drive, but parking at JFK is expensive and difficult, it would make more sense to fly to JFK on Jetblue, DL, US, etc.
3. CX does not have a lounge at JFK but uses the BA Terraces lounge. There is no other lounge in T7 where CX departs. You could use the AC in T8 outside of security but the T7 lounge is nicer.
4. CX ground handling is done by BA. So you know what it is like (OK but not stellar). There are some CX supervisors around who can handle anything complicated.
5. 2 meals plus lots of snacks. More food than you can eat.
