CX buys KA-Dragonair

Keeping Dragonair's identity and their joining oneworld are not mutually exclusive. I don't see why it shouldn't happen. Then again SilkAir isn't a *A member either, despite being owned by SQ. So who knows...
More interesting will be what Air China does now that its cross-shareholdings with CX are increasing. Coming to oneworld after all?

Air China will acquire a 17.5% stake in Cathay Pacific, and Cathay Pacific will double its shareholding in Air China to 20%.....Dragonair will continue to operate under its own brand, but under Cathay Pacific management.

LAN Peru isn't a part of oneworld, but still able to earn miles with AAdvantage, Marco Polo, etc. So hopefully, the arrangement with CX/KA will be similar to LAN.

as long I can earn EQM on my Marco Polo card, I'm happy. In this case I won't have to maintain any status with KA's Elite anymore.. one programme less which I have to maintain!
