Yet another lounge access?
As a new OW Sapphire (AA Plat, thanks to FT), I found this forum very enlightening--learned I have access to all OW Lounges on international flights. Great!
However, I am flying with my 92 year old mother (no airline status) on BA, YVR - LHR WT. She is normally self-propelled, but she allows me to request wheelchair assistance in airports. The extended standing and walking is too fatiguing for her, especially when security lines are long.
Will I be permitted to take her into the lounge as a guest? I am guessing that only BA lounges will be available to us, as I assume we will be accompanied by a BA CSR. Is that correct? Should I phone a CSR in advance? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Not sure what other lounges you want to access at YVR. The CX lounge is open only for CX flight times, so there may be no overlap with when you are at the airport. I remember the YVR lounges as being rather dismal, adequate but nothing special and with poor food selections. Much nicer lounges at the LHR end.
Edit to add that actually I think BA uses the CX lounge in YVR, so there isn't another OW lounge to go to, but I'm not sure about this as I wasn't paying close attention, however it was not a BA Terraces lounge.

I've never had any real problem getting up to 4 family guests into the lounges when I'm with them.
Even sometimes when I'm not even flying it works. Once there was a funny outcome... I checked 4 of my family into QF at LAX (I wasn't traveling), using the F check in, although they were in coach. The check in lady apologized profusely for not being able to admit them to the lounge (which is crappy to the extreme anyway) because it was way overcrowded, and gave us a $30 voucher for the food court outside - which the kids prefered anyway, cos it included the Golden Arches. Nice service!
