AONE - does booking class allow access to the Concord Lounge in LHR?
Hi,
Does the booking class of an AONE allow access to the concord lounge in LHR?
I think I recall you have to be in paid first on a BA flight. But am not sure what an AONE would be booked in (A, AN, or F) and if the Concord lounge is only for F or for all 3 first classes.
I have the following planned and am hoping I get access before going to DXB.
1. HKG- LHR (CX)x
2. LHR-DXB (BA)x
3. DXB-LHR (BA)x
4. LHR-LAX (AA)o

The Concorde Room is not much different from the F lounge these days (most of the good food and wines of years past are gone, along with the elegant service). It is a bit nicer (as the F lounge is really a non-F lounge), and as stated anyone with an F boarding pass on BA or QF has access. You won't get in with a CX or AA F boarding pass though. The old rule (3 or 4 years ago) was R (concorde) or some F (but not all). It was common for the Concorde Room to have 4 or 5 pax during non-Concorde departure times (the staff outnumbered the guests).

This is interesting... some years ago I was refused access to the Concorde Room with an F boarding pass because it was an op-up. According to jerrya. laska and Dave Noble I would now be admitted in this situation. Can anyone confirm from first hand experience?
But as Number_6 says - these days there isn't much going for it - it's also too crowded and full of kids and people talking too loudly on their mobiles...

The main thing in the Concorde Room's favor for me is that it is usually less crowded and a bit quieter than the First lounge (which is just a gold card lounge it seems).

with the differing feedback I went to BAs web site:
http://www.britishairways.com/travel...h_text=lounges
FIRST passenger (i.e. those who hold a valid ticket to travel in FIRST from Terminal 4 or JFK), may also continue to use the Concorde Room lounges at London Heathrow and New York's JFK airports. Please note that Gold members cannot use this lounge unless they are travelling in FIRST.

I assume the only status that gets you into the Concorde Room is BA Black?

But Premiers have no stated lounge benefits that differ from Goldmembers. They may or may not use the BAA suites, which are not that much nicer really (their main purpose to keep people deemed important enough by the foreign office out of the terminal area).
But I did not see anyone mention that the Room can only be used for flights departing from Terminal 4 at LHR (i.e. flights departing from T1 must use the F lounge in that terminal).

What other lounge in LHR is better than the Congorde Room and can OW Emeralds use it if they have a departing flight that day on a OW carrier?
Thanks.
Thanks.
