Thanks.

In general you need to use the lounge in the Terminal from which your flight departs. For OW Emeralds the lounges available in each terminal are as follows (best, in my opinion, in bold):
T1: BA F (with Molton Brown Spa), BA J, EI lounge (dire)
T2: IB & AY lounges presumably (no personal experience)
T3: CX F, AA Flagship, CX J, AA Admiral's Club (I am not as anti the Flagship Lounge as some - maybe because I always seem to be there at quiet times; I find the chairs more comfortable to sit in than the square design in CX lounges)
T4: BA Concorde Room (only if in F, excluding op-ups), BA F (essentially the BA Gold and OW Emerald lounge), BA J * 2

This page suggests that need to be a BA Exec Member and in F on BA to get in to the Concorde Lounge.

Anyway, in practice, I can say that I have never had a problem accessing the Concorde Room simply on the basis that I am flying in paid F (or to be strictly accurate, A) either with my CX Emerald number in the reservation or no number at all.

QF F pax also get access to the CR. I can confirm from personal experience that an op-up'ed into F BP will not get you in, and will see the agent scrawl invol upgd all over it.
As to the question about a nicer lounge in LHR, buy a VS Upper Class ticket and head over to T3.
