The purpose of this thread is not to debate pros and cons for different interpretations of various OW partners. The OP asked about using this route to book an XONE3 that includes Australia. Neither CX or AA allows this but for different reasons. So, having ORD-DEL is to no one's advantage with regards to getting around having to issue a ONE4+.

Gosh, I sure hope I get better at reading when I grow up. I could have sworn the OP had mentioned no specific travel plans in his message, but instead was seeking general information.

I think it means that ORD-DEL can't be used in any xONE3 itineraries, or rather ORD-DEL-HKG-LAX-ORD will be deemed a 3-continent RTW when only 2 continents have been touched. OW doesn't want Europe skipped on xONExs, full stop. Do I sound paranoid if I sniff BA somewhere in here?

Could well be the case, allthough there are many ways to skip BA totally even on legal xONEx routings...

Sorry that we have different interpretations of the post, but

The idea of including Australia on a three continent trip is very appealing!
sounds pretty specific to me. YMMV.

I was planning a RTW starting in Sri Lanka later on this year and thought that bypassing Europe to include Australia would be a treat.
