DONEx questions
I have tentatively booked a DONE4 in late May and early June, taking advantage of ideas learnt in this forum - thanks!
All seems to be correct except that for the DXB - LHR leg on BA106 I have been waitlisted for - every other sector is confirmed.
My questions are;
Waitlisting this far out, when I can see J and D availabilty for that flight on the date [2nd June], why would this be, and is it likely to clear?
I have been confirmed on the same flight in WT in case. Should I be in WT+ as it is the next lower class?
Thanks in advance

Try checking with BA in the UK and BA in the USA; availability on BA can be different depending on the geographical area from where you check

I will check BA elsewhere, but I would be interested in comments as I was checking Expertflyer for the availability. It tells me J9 D9.

In the past years i was waitlistet a few timies - similar situation. They all cleared - some within a few days after making the reservations and some a few days before the flight.
From my experience it is highly likely that the res will clear.
I did not call, but allways had a plan B (confirmed res a day before or after etc)

I prefer BA in the US over the UK, because they have a dedicated RTW desk, although you may have to be insistent in order to be put through to them (some staff will insist they can't put you through). I've found BA telephone staff in the UK to be depressingly inept when it comes to RTW tickets.
As for availability, when expertflyer.com has shown D seats available with BA, AA and QF have both in recent past insisted there were none and waitlisted me, so I had to call BA and, sure enough, they could confirm my seats.

I did a dummy booking for the trip on BA UK which showed there were some cheap Club World seats available.
I am sure my TA is correct, I guess I am surprised of the lack of seats this far out.

Expertflyer is getting D9 for that flight!
Back in August, I had a similar issue when booking my DONE4 for a MEL-LHR leg, Expertflyer was getting D0 on the day 1 wanted to travel, D4 the day before. (Thu/Fri before a long weekend this March)
CX in Columbo could not get a D seat on either day, even with calling Qantas. As I hate waitlisting I ended up getting a land segment to SYD, then QF29.
(I have since booked a connecting MEL-SYD segment during a recent sale for $88.)

I beg to differ. The normal reservations staff frequently try and tell me that I can only make changes to my reservation with my travel agent because of a particular glitch in my booking that the ATW desk understand and ignore or override.
