Jetconnect flights valid for OWE?
Hi,
been getting some mixed messages.
The excellent sticky (and I mean excellent, it puts the OWE rules into plain English) here declares Jetconnect as a valid QF affliliate carrier for OWE RTW itineraries.
The oneworld site does not mention Jetconnect as a valid QF affiliate for OWE RTW itineraries.
The Qantas site does not mention Jetconnect as a valid QF affiliate carrier for the purpose of OWE RTW itineraries.
When you go to Jetconnect website, you actually end up at the Qantas website. Appears only QF flight numbers are bookable (though listed as "operated by another carrier"
).
I have always considered Jetconnect as QF Domestic NZ.
Can anyone confirm or deny Jetconnect as a valid carrier to fly when on a OWE RTW itinerary?
Thanks.

The Rules as published by CX in Hong Kong (and available here: http://www.christen.demon.co.uk/CXRule/ ) say yes Jetconnect is a valid Qantas affiliate - the only caveat is that all flights must be booked with QF codes.

I can confirm that they are valid. I am currently holding a DONE4 with 3 segments on JetConnect. Of course the sad thing is that those book into L on the all-coach flights.

For other airlines the rules vary from year to year, but I think all book into L now (very annoying) except LA might still be Y (haven't bothered to check recently). This is a nasty feature of xONEx fares (L inventory is both hard to get on some routes and of course earns reduced mileage).
