Hi Frequent Flyers . I have a problem . I booked a RTW, which was paid for in full in April , However I did change some flight dates, No problems there , until I checked my itinerary Mel -chc BA 7355 : Says ( Flight does not operate please contact airline.) , then too my surprise I cannot get back from chc-mel as this takes me over my 20 segments . I do apologise in advance if this is confusing , but any help will be gratefully received before I attempt to sort it out with BA in Cai Kind regards ELO

If you had a specific date on the CHC-MEL flight then you should be protected and they should allow you to go one segment over. If you did not then that is one of the risks of open-dating tickets - you are not protected if the flight disappears.
Having said that, the flight seems to exist in my version of the OW Timetable (dep 06:45 MTuThSa). Maybe the problem is that it is operated by JetConnect, but according to the rules as I read them JetConnect is a valid OneWorld / QF affiliate airline for OneWorld Explorer tickets. However, there is a note on some versions of the rules that QF affiliate flights must be booked under QF flight numbers. So as I read it you should still be able to book BA7355 as QF36.
Having said that, the flight seems to exist in my version of the OW Timetable (dep 06:45 MTuThSa). The specific problem is that QF (operated by Jetconnect) will stop flying MEL-CHC on 30 November 2005. From 1 Dec 05 the route will be operated by Jetstar. It appears that BA will not codeshare on the JQ service, so BA7354 stops operating after 27 November 2005 (and in any case, JQ is not a member of Oneworld so that it wouldn't help an xONEx passenger if they did).
As of 1 Dec 2005 the only international QF flights into CHC will be the once-daily QF46 SYD-CHC, although the NZ domestic flights (to AKL, WLG, ROT and ZQN) will still operate. Thus to fly MEL-CHC on an xONEx you'll need to fly via SYD, AKL or WLG, and you'll need at least two coupons.
As of 1 Dec 2005 the only international QF flights into CHC will be the once-daily QF46 SYD-CHC, although the NZ domestic flights (to AKL, WLG, ROT and ZQN) will still operate. Thus to fly MEL-CHC on an xONEx you'll need to fly via SYD, AKL or WLG, and you'll need at least two coupons.

Are you ticketed? Having made payment is not the same thing as being ticked. If so, you should have no problems. I'll assume your trip has actually been ticketed.
Basically you will need to be re-routed to CHC through SYD, WLG or AKL. I'd personally use AKL as the flight options are better.
There should be no need to bargain, simply contact BA and arrange your travel MEL to CHC to suit your needs.

Hi Serfty Thank you for the old thread ,it was very useful and yes I am ticketed,as that was one of the issues I had originally ,if I delayed the full payment I could not be guaranteed the fare . Kind regards ELO

My understanding is that you don't need a dated ticket, you need a confirmed reservation. So if he has an open dated ticket but has a confirmed reservation that he will be equally as protected as having a dated ticket. I agree, though, that open dating saves headaches in the long run if you have to make any changes.

I had the same problem some time ago, but simply because the scheduled time of the CHC/MEL flight did not suit me. I used the oneworld ticket for AKL/MEL and paid (very little) cash for AKL/CHC separately.

How is Rio , in my view the most spectacular City in the World.
I see your point , However it is a bit more complicated for me, and to make matters even more interesting BA are saying , because my flight is involuntary, I will only be entitled to 125% per leg and not the full 200% per leg. re: mel-syd-chc I hope this makes sence, also I am still waiting on BA to confirm the above as one person says 125 and another says 200 Confusing Hey Kind Regards ELO
