Spottie, how did the IST ticketing situation work out?

If I remember rightly you were going to get back to the forum with some tips/advice on ticketing ex-IST.

I need to set up a DONE4 for departure out of Europe about May 23, and my plan to start in BEG has just been shot down by BA who say that prices there are the same as Western Europe.

Do you have some specific information you're looking for here? There are some stories, inlucluding mine, about recent succesfull xONE ticketings ex-IST with BA. I think people have done BA turnarounds, collected tickets from both airport and city office etc. - what I have not seen is BA sending tickets by courier to someone...as they do not prefer that option, but does it really matter as one has to go there anyway to start the trip...

Cheers

IST etickets

BA IST issued me an eticket for my DONE3 two weeks ago. If this is their regular procedure, then there is now no reason to visit their office or ticket counter at the airport.

That is certainly the way to go if your ITN consists under 16 segments with certain airlines, we had to include some AY segments into our DONE ticket so e-ticket was not an option, that's why I mentioned the issue about mailing.

Cheers

IST DONE4 Question

Greetings:

Always enjoy your comments....................... ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

On your OW out of IST.........I have sent them an EMail but have not heard anything back.

I want to book a DONE4 starting in Oct. 2005........could you walk me through just how I should do it to make it easy on them and to gain my DONE4 (I have had my flights OK by the experts)

Can I use EMail? Should I or can I use fax? I can not use the phone. (deaf)

Any info will be appreciated.........Thanks

I would suggest that you do the booking itself with your local BA office/agent in writing/fax/email etc. or put evetything on paper and visit your local BA office in person. When you have a valid ITN you just send it (res.code) via email to BA IST for ticketing.

That is the easiest way, then you just do the payment with BA IST and they do not have to do any validation / booking changes which can difficult to communicate in writing with language barriers etc. in the picture. I would expect that any BA office can also communicate on your behalf with their IST personel so you just go there and pick up the ticket when starting your trip.

Happy planning!
