Advice on a possible AONE5

I have recently been involve din projects in Africa, and dicovered that the AONE-prices down there were favourable to say the least according to the spreadsheet circulated by WearyBixTrvlr. I know the prices are old, but I'll dig into that to verify them.

I was puzzling about the idea of upgrading myself from the current trend of my *A biz-class RTW's to do a fully fledged AONE5. The aim is that I need to visit Hong Kong, Brisbane and Portland and possibly Oslo and Auckland, apart from that it is a pure exercise in squeezing the most luxury out of it.

So far I have 17 segments looking like this:

NBO-LHR-DXB-LHR-SFO-DFW-JFK-YVR-HKG-AKL-SYD-BNE-SYD-SIN-HKG-NRT-LHR-CPT-NBO

I have not setted on where the transfers are to be, but I need to pick those and I need to figure if the JFK-YVR is bookable on its on and if so, is it worth it.

Does anyone have any comments about good flights to be had in premium cabins worth mentioning, or any blatant rule breakge in the trip (bar stopovers/transits)?

This would leave me with segments as follows:

1 Africa
0 Europe
3 North Am.
3 SWP
3 Asia

Your routing is not allowed. You cannot go both in and out of Africa via Europe except in very limited circumstances that aren't present in your routing and probably wouldnt fit your needs. What you would need to do is go from Hong Kong straight to JNB and then up to NBO from there.

And yes, JFK-YVR is bookable on its own though I have heard reports of availability problems.

Also check if the long flights have F.
Last time i looked the CX HKG-AKL had only Business Class. HKG-SYD was ok.

As stated above, you must go direct to Africa from Asia if you have already visited Europe. No 1st class to NZ on CX and the HKG-JNB is 1st class during the South African summer only. What time of year are the required stops and does it matter if you go east or west?
