You have to dig through pages and pages of comments to find a service which is up. Can somebody put up a sticky on the first page of this tread with the links to the calculator?

Tool has different interpretation of rule compared to OW itn planner
I have been playing around, as one does, with various routings which I may or may not be taking in the future and discovered the following anomaly.
If you put the routing JNB-LHR-IST-LHR-MCT-LHR-SIN-NRT-HKG-YYZ-DFW-SEA-DFW-YVR-JFK-LHR-NBO into Mileage Monkey it reports that everything is OK. However if I put the same routing in the OW calculator it says I need to add one more surface sector to get back to JNB. Looking at the OW rules it states:

It also states that I have only used 15 of my 16 sectors.  Does anyone have any experience of how this really should be interpreted? |
IME, "Mileagemonkey" is generally more au fait with the rules the the "oneworld planner".
"(f) within Africa" is your friend here ... |

Surely we'd have heard a few screams by now from people looking, for example, to start and end in different US cities if this were the case? I haven't heard/seen any.

The rules now count surface sectors when they did not do so in the past. The Starfile wording on this point is hardly a model of clarity, but that also applies elsewhere within that 'document'. The rules as practically interpreted by the carriers are what really count, and FT is a superb forum for disseminating their interpretations to this community. |
I hope this is the correct place for this. I have used this tool extensively and think it is one of the best things on the web. Iam planning some India work and trying to ensure I can keep on OW and I tried to do some mileage calcs to Jaipur - JAI - and the city was not recognised. I know I wont be able to fly into Jaipur on OW but I can make some connecions so it would be great to know the distance from various places to JAI.
Cheers S |
I would try selecting "Ignore errors (for expert users!)", the calculations you are after are then done.
But this won't help as "JAI" is an "Unknown" city. I guess you can still put your route into http://gc.kls2.com/ ... |
The error is more the fact that wen even doing point-to-point calcs that JAI is not recognised.

(and this even applies to terrible 75Ws and FinnComm's ER4s) All narrow-bodies are in movable curtain configuration, and the classes offer only depend on the route - aircraft has no significance. I'm pretty sure the same is applicable to BA/IB/MA narrow-bodies at least to some extent.
We did establish that although BA domestics have Y-only cabins, that they do sell J tickets for those which do come with the associated benefits (lounge access, points etc.) - so you only miss out on the cabin really for these. Hence MM treats all BA services (aircraft type permitting) as having J as well as Y. |

I'm using Milleage Monkey 0.95021 from http://slfft.allhyper.com/0.95/award.htm. Could you tell where is the OW calculator? |
Mileage Monkey validates xONEx type fares - so you are using the wrong tool.
The xONEx rules can be found here: http://www.oneworld.com/content/libr...rule_sheet.pdf A synopsis/FAQ's of the fare can be found here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/onewo...cket-faqs.html |
