Concorde room is at T4, I'm sorry to say.

Enjoy the F flight to HKG, and get the ticket reissued with CX. My bet would be CX agents are much more efficient than BA in LHR.

The ex-NBO AONE5 moves on.

I was rather underwhelmed by CX HKG to SYD. For a start the First Lounge looked like the venue for a business conference rather than the F lounge of an airline reputed to be the best in the world (or at least OW) in a new airport to boot.

The service on CX was great of course, and flight attendants a lot cuter than you ever meet on AA, but the meal was just so so, and the seats not as nice as F in BA's 747's.

I'm looking forward to QF SYD-LAX in F on Sunday.

All a matter of opinion, I suppose - did you use the Wing [nr gate 1] or The Pier? If the former then I'm surprised you came away unimpressed, if the latter, I'm in agreement.

Hope you're having a good trip. Let us know what you thought of QF F - personally I think there's a feeling of more privacy in BA's F cabin, but still a good product.

HKG-SYD is normally an A330 route, so you saw the Airbus F cabin, not the 744 F cabin. On the 744 CX has a much better cabin layout than BA -- 12 seats instead of 14 in the same square footage, for a start! More comfortable seat with better features, better IFE, etc. The Airbus F is a step down but well done within the confines of the aircraft.

The F lounges shine because of the wonderful catering (done by the Pen). The Wing is quite a bit nicer than the Pier, though it is a matter of taste and some like the day rooms at the Pier.

I was in the Wing, but never did go into the dinning room - perhaps I should have! And as you say, everything is a matter of opinion, and sometimes it relates to how your day is going. I wanted to check my e-mail, but after struggling to connect to the Wireless LAN for 5 or 10 minutes, one of the staff come up and say it wasn't turned on yet, but would be 90 mins before the departure of CX 111 (this was about 2 hours before the flight).

Hong Kong was a business stop and not so good at that, so maybe that colored my impression. Plus I froze in HK, since in my ignorance I thought HK was always hot or at least warm and travelled with just summer clothes.

Now my day in Sydney was a blast. Beautiful weather, did a Manly ferry crossing then sat on the beach watching the sights (and I saw some wonderful sights...) and caught up with some family and friends over great food and wine.

I'm looking forward to QF in F. The trans-Tasman flight to Wellington in J was fine. Nice food, good service, but a very old plane with no inflight power, a malfunctioning IFE at my seat, and a disturbingly thick layer of dust and dirt on the plane's ceiling above my head!

Off thread slightly, but a source in QF pricing was telling me that AA want to REQUIRE e-ticketing of xONEx tickets, and limit them further to 16 segements to facilitate this. Luckily, so far, other OW members are resisting...
