Accuring AA miles on CX metal LONE RTW
Hello all,
Trying to get around the fact that one cannot accrue AA miles on CX metal.
When booking a LONE using my AAdvantage number, I could book an AA code share on CX metal (e.g., AA 6092 BKK to HKG) and still accrue the full AA miles?
Sorry if this is a duplicate posting!
Thanks in advance!

If you are on an AA-coded ticket, you'll be issued miles as per an AA flight. However, typically the local codeshares in Asia are only accessible as part of an international AA itinerary -- don't know if you'll be able to book them on an RTW.

Also, you may also want to keep in mind that you can earn full mileage flying from Asia to Europe on Finnair. Just a suggestion....

platinum AA but put miles for sectors with QF
along the same lines, if a plat AA member on RTW puts the CX sectors into a qantas account, will they still get access to the lounges at this point?.. ive been denied access when travelling on star rtw when i was putting the miles with an airline with whom i had no status..
