DONE3 or DONE4

Probably wishful thinking on my part, but if just transit through Asia rather than stop over, can you get away with buying a DONE3 instead of a DONE4 for the following:

XXX-lhr-dxb-lhr-sin-per-kta-per-syd-lax-jfk-lhr-xxx

Thanks in advance.

Sorry starting area isn't a secret just undecided - somewhere in Europe though. I'm in the very early stages of planning this trip and just exploring options.

Thanks again for the clarification.

If I remember correctly, the star files actually state that any itinerary in the continents (S.AM, Africa, SWP) requires a minimum of 4 continents.
