Circle Pacific - Australia
First of all let me apologize if this question has been asked before or if this is a pointless question. I did a search but am still confused. AA Platinum but going first time international. Was just notified about about the Circle Pacific fares and wondering if this would qualify, or if not how to make it so. I definitely am interested in what I was told was a $4900 business rate, but also in accruing miles. I was looking to go LAX-SYD, SYD-AKL, and AKL-LAX. Would this work? Any advise on why this would not work or how to make it work would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You'll have to go via South Pacific one way and Central / North Pacific the other way. What you describe is little more than a return trip rather than a circle trip.
The disincentive for Circle Pacific trips for the Business traveller is the long route via SE Asia to the US from Oz. Otherwise everyone would take it becasue of the very high Business fares Oz to USA.
You can do SYD-AKL-LAX-DFW-YVR-HKG-SYD within the 22,000 mile limit on the cheapest fare.

If you can, take an extra day or two on the way and stop somewhere...
