Well, if the message contains any meaning, or the link mentions observer status or the meaning of its loss, I failed to see it. Could someone post a translation for us slow learners?

...

...

Meanwhile, the Swiss carrier has not been invited to participate in the next executive meeting of the OneWorld alliance pending the outcome of bilateral talks with the alliance's largest member, British Airways PLC.

"Swiss ... will not participate in the next meeting," the newspaper cited a company spokeswoman as saying.

'Swiss', which has been expected to join OneWorld, has participated in the alliance's recent meetings as an observer.

Hard to make much of it. I guess it's just another sign that some of the folks involved think Swiss+Oneworld might well not be happening. Sounds like the British Airways negotiation is significant and possibly final block. Nothing definitive for the future yet though.
