One World Lounge Access - tricky situation

I am One World Sapphire.
London Gatwick airport - I want to buy a ticket on Iberia (One World Partner) for Tuesday departing at 7:30pm. This should grant me access to the lounge on Tuesday (all day) and allow me to stay until Wednesday 6am the following day for my actual flight on EasyJet.
I know the lounges are open 24 hours, and I should have access to them.

2) The intended meaning of the 6am rule is that if you had a flight at 05:59 on day 2, then you can access the lounge starting 00:01 on day 1. It doesn't mean even if you no-showed the flight on day 1, you are allowed to lounge around until 6am day 2, if the lounge were to be 24/7.

Assuming you have the right to enter the UK the Gatwick Airport Travelodge for this coming Tuesday is 82.00 for the night - which i would assume in July is probably cheaper than buying a ticket on Iberia which you would then forfeit?
