Lounge access when crediting to non-status program
So currently I'm OWE through MH. I'm going to switch to BAEC and want to start crediting flights to my BA account. But now my question is: can I access the Singapore QF F lounge based on my MH status when my boarding pass shows my BA FF number which currently has no status?

Apologies for resurrecting this ancient thread but I have a similar question and so no point starting a new thread about it.
I am Cathay's MPC Gold and this will be extended until the end of 2023. However, I am leaving Hong Kong for ever in January and won't fly Cathay again. I am burning all my excess Asia Miles early next year.
I'm relocating to Europe and have an old BAEC account that I will start to credit my OW flights to. I have no idea how many OW flights I will do or whether it will get me any status but it makes more sense for me to focus on Avios and BAEC (I'll be in Lisbon and my main FF programme will be a *A carrier though probably not TAP).
1. Can people comment on the reliability of putting my Cathay MPC membership number on the reservation and then changing it at the gate to my BAEC number.
2. Will they be able to do this in the lounge too? Will I get a new boarding pass with the BAEC FF number on at the gate as proof that the number has been changed?
3. If the outward flight is changed at the gate then will the return flight already bear the BAEC number?
4. If the flights are subsequently incorrectly credited to MPC then is it possible to appeal and get them correctly credited to BAEC or is it a done deal once they're credited?
Apologies for appearing to be a bit paranoid about this but I've never done it and I can foresee numerous IT problems getting the flights credited correctly.
Thanks for any insight into this process.
