Speculation: Will there be a PE versoin of xONEx?
Now that there are 6 airlines with premium economy on long-haul routes (AA/BA/CX/IB/JL/QF), I think that there could be a market for a stand alone PE version of the xONEx RTW tickets. The advantage I see is for long haul flights since the difference between Y and biz on most intra-continent flights is very small. The surcharge for upgrading an LONE ticket to biz is so large that one is better off buying a DONE ticket.
With1st class service shrinking and the price difference between biz and 1st so large, it would make more sense to just offer an upgrade sector by sector with a monetary surcharge like the current PE upgrade option.
Opinions?

While they have embedded within the rules the opportunity to monetise W for LONEx's I suspect such won't be happening.
It would also perhaps entail some alignment from the carriers as these fares normally come in as a discount bucket - it would not be a WONEx.
BA- WET, AA-WEX, QF-WRT, JL-WRE ...
