Splitting FFP between two airlines - RTW ticket

I would like to qualify AA 100K then the extra 40K I fly each year qualify for a CX siver card (30K).

Is it possible to fly part of a jpurney giving your points to AA then at some point switch to CX or another airline?

Also, as my routing is CX-AA-BA-CX, could I kepp the CX sector for CX points and the AA sector for AA points? Thjis would mean three requests for change of computer code on the one journey. Is this possible?

Only the facts. AC CX NW frequent flyer.

Should be no problem. Easiest is: just give them the card for the different program at check in.
Sometimes the new information is then used as default (if you dont show tem the different card again) for the flights at the following check ins, sometimes the information from the reservation is used. So you need to be careful aferwards and allways check which program they have in their system.

Have you had actual experience with this?

What I worry about is that the system defaults to nothing after two inputs are made or detected? I will try anyway.

Has anyone else divided tickets between two airline FFP with or without problem?

this will work, as the BP - will display which FFP is used for the flight. or if you are soo worried, don't use any FFP cards at all then send them in after you complete the flights.

Does this mean that chopping and changing on my CX-AA-BA-CX route should be no trouble : that the computer system just needs to be input to the correct choice for each sector?

I have experience doing this - some even without planning for it.
On my last trip with several OW airlines my Swiss Number was in the itinary. No problem changing it to the AA number at check in - had to do it basically every time when checking in.

Also the swiss number likley triggered the extra security check - on this trip i allways ended up with the special code on the boarding pass for the extra check. Seems that swiss program members are more likely to be terrorist than aa program members......

Did the continual change of credit options at the airport cause non-recording of flights? This is the critical issue, for I accept that you are not locked into one airline by the alliance system.

A little over a year ago I changed between AA and QF in the middle of an itinerary and all the miles posted correctly.

I have done this many times with my own QF/AA and AS/NW FF programs in the same Itinerary - the latest with my wife's itinerary which needed 3 changes of FF programs (QF, AA and UA) and 11 out of 12 posted correctly. I have written to correct the only one that mis-posted.

As other posters have alluded, you may need to have your "major" FF card in the booking for op ups or similar, but if you need to change FF programs, give them your other FF card at check-in and just make sure they change it for that segment only. Keep your BP's and tickets (or itinerary if e-ticket) and be prepared to copy and send them in if they don't post correctly.

Those wild and crazy Swiss. If you are worried about chopping and hacking then figure out what flights you want on AA and what you want on CX and ask that seperate PNRs be created. Then assign whatever number you want to each PNR. It's easy from a travel agent but the airlines might give you grief about it.

Just be sure that the correct FFP number is printed on your boarding pass, and hold onto that boarding pass.

Yes, can be done. As someone mentioned, ensure it is printed on your boarding pass and hold on to it.

Anyone remember the 100k bonus for flying 5 partner airlines??? I remember many people did this and got 100k bonus on multiple airline FFP on one RTW ticket!

Exactly the same happened to our family 2 adl. and 2 kids ! 4 AA segments with LX FFPno. stored = 4 times full security check ( incl. dress off shoes, belts, jackets and eliminate complete handluggage ) and in Miami we got a double check !!! 2. was 10min. after 1. , when entering the plane !
